Beardyman and Gruff Rhys are among the new acts added to WOMAD on the Society of Sound stage presented by Real World and Bowers & Wilkins. Over the weekend the stage will feature an eclectic array of sound pioneers and musical adventurers celebrating the art of listening through live performances, DJ sets and interactive events. These performances will be delivered in crystal clear audio quality by a bespoke Sound System specially created by British hi-fi experts Bowers & Wilkins.

Beardyman

Pushing the boundaries of his art ever further, Beardyman has also developed the world’s most advanced live music production system, aptly named the BEARDYTRON 5000mkII - which debuted at the global TED conference last year - to allow him to improvise cutting edge, studio quality music in real-time. At the Society of Sound stage he will be premiering the BEARDYTRON_5000mkIII - the full BEARDYTRON experience – and creating an album live on stage; Beardyman ‘One Album Per Hour’.

Also added to the Society of Sound stage is trailblazing musical polymath Ben Watt, a rare DJ set from David Holmes, and an equallyrare public performance the legendar and Radiophonic Workshop

The weekend will also be marking Real World Records 25th anniversary with some very special appearances including Real World Records favourites 9Bach, Justin Adams, Adrian Sherwood and Larla O Lionard.
