GREEN MAN 2012 ENDS WITH A BANG!!

The spirit of Green Man 2012 burned bright to the very end as thousands of like-minded festival lovers helped celebrate our 10th anniversary with a wonderful weekend of hazy, lazy and occasionally crazy moments underneath the soul-stirring beauty of Wales’ breathtaking Black Mountains.

This year’s incredible line-up of bands and artists included a jaw-dropping variety of eclectic genres, ranging from the legendary Van Morrison headlining Saturday night to the epic sounds of Mogwai on the Friday. Metronomy created the ultimate party atmosphere, whilst Feist rounded the festival off with sheer brilliance upon the Mountain stage on Sunday. There were also incredible performances from the likes of The Tallest Man On Earth, of Montreal, The Bees, Field Music, Scritti Politti, Mr. Scruff, Willy Mason, Daughter, James Blake (DJ) and Michael Kiwanuka.

What was your favourite Green Man moment?

Was it Adam Buxton’s hilarious comedy opening the festival on Thursday night? The Green Man paraglider’s drifting on to the site during King Creosote’s Mountain Stage set? Or simply enjoying a cheeky cider or four at the Courtyard Bar with old friends?

Maybe it was squeezing into the Far Out tent on Sunday afternoon to see the amazing Alt J? Or being mesmerised by tUnE-yArDs phenomenal performance on the Mountain Stage, followed by a much-deserved encore?

Perhaps your favourite highlight was simply tucking into some delicious food from one of our many tasty food stalls. Or maybe it was enjoying the wide range of real ale and cider from one of our bars and getting tipsy with a Growler.

Could it have been one of the meditation sessions that took place over the course of the weekend helping you to relax and unwind in Nature & Nurture, or was it the mind-boggling flurry of energy you discovered in Einstein’s Garden.

The highlight for many is likely to be the spectacular burning of the Green man on Sunday night followed by an incredible fireworks display to mark the end of his 10th Birthday.

A decade on, Green Man continues to be a festival made by the people, for the people, and it’s the perfect mix of nature and human nature that always makes it such an unforgettable celebration of the weird, the wonderful, the strange and the sublime.

We also want to say an extra special thank you to everyone for making the most of the challenging conditions on-site over the weekend - the rain and mud didn't dampen your spirits and that's what makes Green Man such a special event!
