The SportBeat Festival is an action-packed weekend with music, sport and fun for all the family to enjoy. The newly named Oxstalls Sports Park is the venue, the 5th-7th July are the dates for your diary.

This Festival is an exciting concept mixing music and sport, so whether you are happy to watch, listen, play or, join in, it's your choice as there should be something for everyone to do.

Music lovers can listen to headline acts on the 'Centre Stage', or they may prefer the more intimate atmosphere of the Campfire Stage where they will be able to enjoy a mix of 'up & coming' talent, local singers/musicians and established acts to keep them entertained. Some of the acts confirmed so far are The Feeling, The Lightning Seeds, Juan Zelada, Ryan Keen, Mark Morriss of the Bluetones, Ruarri Joseph, Lillian Todd-Jones, Mad Dog Mcrae plus local artists Vince Freeman, Kal Lavelle, The Cadbury Sisters, Canary Swing and Andy Oliveri.  More acts to be announced in the coming weeks!

Sport plays a major part in the Festival, over the weekend teams will be competing to be crowned 'SportBeatFest Champions 2013' in Rugby Sevens, Netball and Wheelchair Rugby aka Murderball, a tournament format will determine who makes it through to the Finals on Sunday afternoon. Spectators are welcome to watch and encourage all teams taking part in what promises to be an exciting weekend of sport. They are grateful to Gloucestershire Netball for their support and would like to help with further development of the sport in the County.  A donation will be made to the Carly Taylor Fighting Back Fund from money raised at the Festival.  Carly, who was left paralysed from the neck down after a terrible accident, played locally for Hucclecote and the University of Gloucestershire Netball Clubs.

Summer Clash ’13 is like an event within an event to test some of the fittest athletes in the UK. Fitness athletes train to successfully complete tasks some of which include weightlifting, gymnastics, endurance and balance.  It should be “a gruelling event to test some of the fittest athletes in the UK, tough for the competitor but exciting for the spectators, a weekend high intensity and a sense of community”

The 'Interactive Family Zone' includes a BMX, skateboard & scooter display ramp and 'come & try it' skills sessions for budding sports stars.  There will be Bouncy World for the energetic, young or old! Local food producers will be selling their wares at the Food Market along with Gloucester Brewery ales and  Severn Cider.  They also have other ideas that they are working on and once  confirmed will add to the list of events.  Families will have access to the music stages and sporting events, so there will be plenty of interesting things to do, for all.

The Sportbeat Crew comprises of Jack Adams former GRFC, England Sevens player now with Cinderford RFC and Beach Volleyball players Jody Gooding and Denise Johns who have spent the past five years playing for Great Britain on the World Tour.  Between them all they hope that experiences gleaned from playing sport around the globe will help them put on an amazing Eco-friendly community based Festival that the City will be proud of.

They have a great team behind them with over fifty years in the event industry. If you would like more information about the Sportbeat Festival either as a Festival goer,
