Folk by the Oak is back for 2013, bringing exceptional folk and acoustic music to the equally exceptional venue of Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire.

Headliners
Kate Rusby – currently celebrating 20 years in the industry with the launch of her album 20, Kate has carefully selected just a handful of festivals to perform at this summer. We are honoured to be one of the few and look forward to welcoming Kate back to Folk by the Oak with the cream of British folk musicians who form part of her band.
Oysterband – also performers with a long and illustrious career that has taken them around the world and from pure ceilidh traditions to critical acclaim performing with the likes of June Tabor. Lau - featuring the beautiful vocals and skilful guitar playing of award winning Orcadiansongwriter Kris Drever, pioneering post-everything accordion and electronics from Martin Greenand the timeless, masterful and melodic creative of Scottish fiddler Aidan O’Rourke. With theirlatest album shortlisted for Album of the Year by BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, we are delighted towelcome Lau back to Folk by the Oak.
Jim Moray and the Doret Ensemble –This will be a very special ‘summer festival exclusive’ forFolk by the Oak celebrating the 10th anniversary of Jim’s first album Sweet England, byperforming the original album live in its entirety with the Doret Ensemble. A unique experiencenot to be missed this summer. Jim is also up for a BBC Folk Award for his latest album Skulk.
Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts - Also BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominees this year (bestduo) Katriona and Jamie combine astounding lap-tapping guitar, fiery fiddle and their trademarkharmonies with considerable songwriting talent to make a truly distinctive sound.

The FBTO team continue their tradition of ensuring this is a great day out for the whole family,with an ever expanding craft tent, workshops, children’s activities, storytelling, circus skills, and realale bar, music stalls, vintage stalls, recycled gifts and delicious food. And they continue toencourage you to bring your own food and drink along and make yourself at home. It’s acompact and leafy site with one main stage so you can pick a grassy spot, kick back and enjoy awhole day of top quality live music.
