The “Genuinely original, innovating and amazing” (ArtRocker) duo will headline The Georgian Theatre stage at the Easter Saturday event, which is heading in to its fifth year and will be in search of its fourth consecutive sell out.

Public Service Broadcasting is the corduroy-clad brainchild of London-based J.Willgoose, Esq. along with his drumming companion, Wrigglesworth.

PSB's uniquely spell-binding live AV Transmissions see them weave samples from old public information films, archive footage and propaganda material around live drums, guitar, banjo and electronics as they teach the lessons of the past through the music of the future - beaming our past back at us through vintage TV sets and state of the art modern video projection devices.

PSB released their debut album Inform – Educate - Entertain in May 2013 which debuted at #21 in the UK album charts and received widespread critical acclaim including 5* Album of the Month from Artrocker Magazine plus 4* reviews from The Guardian, The Independent and many more.

In September 2013 the band toured with Manic Street Preachers for a run of dates – capping off a fantastic year for PSB which has seen them sail past 100 live transmissions, including support slots with New Order at Jodrell Bank, The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park and over 30 summer festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, Festival No.6 and many more.

Organiser Chris Cobain, of Tees Music Alliance, said of the announcement; “We’re thrilled to have captured such an exciting booking for this years event. PSB will bring a whole new aspect to Stockton Calling with their visual elements; it’s an intriguing live experience.”

The venue-spanning event has expanded year on year since it’s 2010 conception; starting with ARC, KU and The Georgian Theatre, it has since gone on to draw in The Sun Inn, The Vault, The Storytellers and The Green Room, creating a day of musical enrichment through Stockton Town Centre.

Co-organiser, and manager of KU and Storytellers, Jimmy Beck commented; “We’re incredibly excited for the fifth year of Stockton Calling. It’s got bigger and bigger each year to meet with demand, and is still growing.”

Tickets for the event go on sale on Monday 2 December priced at £15 in advance. The last four years have sold out so advanced booking is highly recommended. Further announcements are to be made in January 2014.
