Fieldview has announced that Delphic, Bear’s Den, Jacob Banks, Parachute Youth, Sam Green, Luke Sital-Singh and Wolf Alice are just a few of the 2013 line-up. Fieldview will bring the picturesque Wiltshire village of Little Somerford alive this summer from 1st -4th August.
Until last week, the 2013 artist line-up of charitable grassroots music festival, Fieldview, was a highly guarded secret. But now a line-up bursting with some of the UKs best up and coming musical talent has been revealed. From experimental dub-jazz quintets to ‘Djent’ metal entwined with grime lyrics, Fieldview has music and arts for everyone.
Fresh from touring their second studio album ‘Collections’, Fieldview welcomes co-headliners Delphic. This three-piece from Manchester have just come back from an 18 month break since the success of the first album ‘Acolyte’. Delphic’s unique electro-indie sound is more than capable of delivering festival-shaking choruses and they expect nothing less at Fiedlview 2013.
Co-headlining with Delphic is Bear’s Den, a bluesy folk three-piece riding high after recently supporting Mumford and Sons at the O2 Arena and releasing their second EP ‘Agape’.
Supporting Bears Den is one of the most talented soul artists to emerge in the last year, Jacob Banks. Despite being only a tender 21 years, Birmingham born Jacob has made waves with his recent performance on The Jools Holland show and 1Xtra. Jacob’s debut EP ‘Monologue’ is a passionate and soulful EP showcasing a vocal performance far beyond his years.
Also gracing the Fieldview stage is folk-infused slide guitarist Sam Green and the Midnight Heist. Sam has been touring his eponymously named EP ‘Miles Away’ to an ever-growing loyal UK fan-base. We’re confident Sam will have the Fieldview crowds bouncing.
Other artists to keep an eye out for this year are Parachute Youth, regarded as one of the best up and coming exports from Australia, their summer anthem ‘Can’t Get Better Than This’ is a crowd pleaser. Also playing are North London quartet, Wolf Alice, Signed to Rough Trade and making waves of recent with their singles, ‘Fluffy’ and ‘Bros’, they are a must see. Also playing are Nimmo and the Gauntlets, Hacktivist and Gentleman’s Dub Club.
As ever there will be an array of activities to watch, learn and play for young and slightly older. Metal workshops, Capoeira, Free Running, Solar Panel Building and Yoga sessions will be running throughout the weekend. All are welcome to take part for free.
Early bird tickets sold out in a day, but for £70, you can get a weekend camping ticket. Fieldview is not only a bargain, but also a shining gem of a charity festival amongst the world of super-conglomerate festivals. Fieldview gives all revenue to charity and tries to do its bit for the environment by powering the event through biodiesel generators and solar power.
Great new music, locally sourced (and reasonably priced) food and drink, bag loads of activities and a carbon neutral footprint to boot. Fieldview 2013 is set to be another memorable year. O, and this year’s fancy dress festival theme, the ‘Fieldview Express’.
