With only a few weeks left folk fans in the area are counting the days to to once again meeting up with friends old and new for a weekend of fabulous music in the friendliest of folk festivals, Festival On The Moor.
33 acts line up for more than 100 performances over four days. Among them are Internationaly renowned guitarist WOODY MANN, COOPE , BOYES & SIMPSON and RICHARD GRAINGER who appears this year with accordion ‘guru’, CHRIS PARKINSON.
Music fromTraditional and Contemporary Folk to Delta Blues alongside Historic Re-enactors, Childrens Entertainment, Traditional Dance, Ceilidh, Festival Food, Real Ale Bar, Workshops,Meet The Artists spots, Concerts and Arts & Crafts on display and for sale,CD Sales, Festival T-Shirts.
For those who would like to take part there are plenty of opportunities to play and sing at daily sessions, and if you’re a budding or experienced songwriter why not enter their famous KFA Song Competition. The theme this year is World War 1 in conjunction with the Festivals Heritage Lottery Funded WW1 project ‘Ghosts Of Heroes’.
Just to remind you that they also have perhaps the best festival venues in the county being in beautiful Botton nr Danby, the heart of the North York Moors
Joan Of Arc Hall is a beautifully designed concert hall offering day and evening concerts and a real ale bar.
The Joan Of Arc Library, at the rear of the building, acts as a club, singaround and workshop venue.
Botton School our base for the festival, where you can buy or collect pre-booked tickets, programmes etc enjoy snacks and refreshments in our Festival Cafe, hear concerts from national and international folk stars in the Main Hall and the Caedmon Room for workshops and sing arounds.
Botton Village Cafe will be open throughout the weekend for light meals and refreshments and is the home of the Festival Folk Club.
