Transmission 001 received Event Magazine’s ‘Event Award’ recognising creativity and innovation in events sector, and winning best event in the entire UK, not just in the music category but up against huge events like Comic Relief and Jamie Oliver!
Transmission 002 received the "Extreme Creativity Award” at this weeks’ UK Festival Awards. The Live From Jodrell Bank Series has an unrivalled Science programme on-site in the Science Arena. The ideas on show beat every single other idea at every event in the country outside music and standard entertainment and was voted by a panel of industry judges. Highlights included a Mars rover, particle accelerator exhibition, and a live on-stage link up to the Very Large Telescope in the Andes Mountains of Chile. Headliners Elbow worked in collaboration with Jodrell Bank Scientists to create bespoke visuals mixing images and video of work at Jodrell Bank, astronomy and history of the band, all projected onto the iconic 76-metre Lovell Telescope.
