Embankment Summer Market will take place in Victoria Embankment Gardens from Friday 29th May to Sunday 31st May 2015. Event organiser, City Showcase together with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) have curated 3 days of great live music on the outdoor stage.

Featuring new and breaking artists and bands, Embankment Summer Market follows the organiser’s other Central London event, Soho Flea Market, which saw over 18,000 people visit Dean Street, London, last June.

City Showcase is a not-for-profit year-round festival of new music, responsible for helping break some of the best names into the industry since 2003. City Showcase hosts over 200 new musicians performing in Central London each year at their events Finding The Future, City Showcase: Sessions at The Apple Store Regent Street, and live stages at Run To The Beat, The Color Run and the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, covering a range of musical genres. Artists that have previously taken part include Amy Winehouse, Keane, Laura Marling, Gabriella Cilmi, N-Dubz, Newton Faulkner, Ray LaMontagne, Razorlight, Hot Chip, Scouting For Girls, Gabrielle Aplin, Foxes, Hudson Taylor and Seth Lakeman.

Nanette Rigg, Founding Director of City Showcase: Markets added: “Building on the success of Soho Flea Market over the past three years, we’re excited to be holding our first Embankment Summer Market in the beautiful Victoria Embankment Gardens alongside the Thames. The three-day event will feature a handpicked selection of innovative products by the UK’s best creative and design talents, alongside stalls from this summer’s hottest food and drink vendors. The City Showcase stage will host the best emerging musicians and bands, and there’ll be lawn games and entertainment for all ages”.

Bringing together up and coming artisans, artists, fashion designers, jewellery designers and musicians, Embankment Summer Market will also feature street food, drink, farmers’ market, lawn games and entertainment for all ages. The event’s charity partner is The Connection at St Martin’s, which helps homeless people in the heart of Central London.

Embankment Summer Market is a unique, must-go event in a wonderfully scenic location on the Northbank of the Thames between Embankment Station and the Royal Courts of Justice and Somerset House.

Sonja Ashbury, Fundraising Officer at The Connection at St Martins-in-the-Fields says: “Being the Charity partner of Embankment Summer Market is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness and tell people about our work with rough sleepers in Westminster, the borough with the highest rates of homelessness in the UK (a quarter of rough sleepers are located here). We will be making sure our clients get the most out of this opportunity by displaying some art work and photography they have produced through the Centre, which is a massive confidence boost for them and a source of income for them too!”
