Del Amitri, with a cast of original members and even the original crew, will be performing at Celtic Connections on 24th January 2014 in the brand new SSE Hydro.

Arguably Glasgow’s best-loved outfit from that golden generation of Scottish bands who emerged in the 1980s, Del Amitri take to the city’s newest and biggest stage for their first UK show in over a decade, not to mention their Celtic Connections debut, which also launches a 12-date nationwide tour.

Thirty years on from their debut single ‘Sense Sickness’, lead vocalist and songwriter Justin Currie promises “a retrospective sweep of our entire output, from indie art-pop through folk-tinged balladry to hairy Brit-rock chuggery,” spanning a career that’s included 15 Top 40 singles and four Top 10 albums, among them the iconic ‘Nothing Ever Happens’ and the million-selling Change Everything. Matching irresistible melodic heart with compellingly incisive lyrics, Currie and co-founder Iain Harvie, together with Andy Alston, Kris Dollimore and Ashley Soan, are also joined tonight by Airdrie contemporaries The Big Dish, who staged their own triumphant reunion at Celtic Connections 2012.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 6th September at 10am and will be available online.
