Deer Shed, the picturesque Yorkshire festival in Baldersby Park,  returns for a 5th year on 19th  to 21st July, declaring loudly it's the start of the school summer holidays, come out and play.

And what better way to kick start the kid's summer holiday then 3 days of music, comedy, fun and games. Returning this year is everyone's favourite ball on a string® - a whole field in the middle of the camping where the truly competitive slog it out with, well, their kids, to see who takes the swing ball crown! Along with this there is the sports field, cardboard city, soft play and 8 tonnes of sand!!

2013's theme is Machines, promising everything machine based from robots to radios, Raspberry Pi to Minecraft. There is even mention of Scrapheap Challenge and Meccano!! What is there not to love about that?

As always Deer Shed offers an eclectic mix of music over 3 stages, “contemporary, quality and variety” is their mantra. This year they bring some big names including Edwin Collins, Gaz Coombes, Darwin Deez, Willy Mason & King Cresote. Along with Public Service Broadcasting, Tubular Bells for Two, The House of Love, and Moulettes and The Unthanks.

If you fancy something different from music there is a long list of comedians, family films, spoken word and story telling - the list is almost endless. There is even a running route this year through the woods of Baldersby Park! For a small family festival Deer Shed really packs it in.

Tickets for Deer Shed Festival are available from just £99 (plus BF), with the child (6-15) tickets coming in a supremely reasonable £25 here
