Open Mic UK, produced by Future Music, is a singing competition that attracts thousands of acts in regional heats across the UK and winners look forward to a host of prizes including recording studio time and a slot at the O2 in London. Previous winnners have included teen sensation Birdie, Hatty Keane and X factor contestants Jahmene Douglas and Lucy Spraggan.

Croissant Neuf Summer Party will host 3 acts that are previous winners of the singing competition. The first of these slots has just been announced as RemedySounds.

After winning the Live and Unsigned competition and being signed to Future Music Management in October 2012, UK urban-acoustic artist RemedySounds has started to take the music world by storm.

The ex-marine is a multi-award winning loop pedal artist, and while he may have left the navy you would be wrong to sign him off as he next James Blunt. Clocking up 200 shows in just 12 months RemedySounds has supported the likes of Chase & Status, Labrinth, Katie B, Whiley and Tynchy Strider. After performing at Croissant Neuf Summer Party he will grace the stage at the O2 in London.

Festival Director Andy Hope commented

We’re very excited about welcoming Open Mic UK acts to our solar-powered stages at CNSP this year and they will fit right into our wonderfully eclectic line-up of folk, roots, ska, jazz and world music. Luke Concannon is supporting RemedySounds with his forthcoming EP launch so it’s great both will be at our festival as Luke plays a special reunion set with Nizlopi.
