Get snappin’ and win Coastival tickets  Submit your ‘Different View’ of Scarborough

Do you have an eye for a different view of Scarborough?

If so, you could win free tickets for the headline event at next month’s major Coastival arts festival.

The organisers of Coastival - A Different View have teamed up with Scarborough News to run a great photographic competition. To enter, all you have to do is submit a photograph which demonstrates a different or unusual view of Scarborough.

The winner will receive a pair of tickets for the Club Coastival event, a key part of Coastival - A Different View, on 16th February.

Boy George (DJ set) will headline Club Coastival, a fantastic evening of music and lightshows at the Spa. He will be appearing alongside his VG Records partner and fellow DJ/Producer Marc Vedo (DJ set) and Holotronica, a combined music and 3D hologram experience. Club Coastival will run from 10pm to 2.30am at the Spa Grand Hall.

To enter just submit your image with your name and contact details, by email, to: [email protected] . The closing date is midnight on Sunday 3rd February 2013.

The Scarborough News will publish a selection of the entries, including the eventual winner. The tickets are worth £30 and the winner will also receive Coastival t-shirts.

Create Director Wendy Holroyd said: “This Coastival event is all about taking a fresh look at Scarborough and we are looking to see how creatively people can interpret that.

“Entries can be as weird and wonderful as people want – the more off-beat the better – and there is a great prize up for grabs for the image the judges think best sums up ‘A Different View’.”

The judges will be Scarborough News photographer Andrew Higgins, Wendy herself and Scarborough photographer Tony Bartholomew.

A total of 60 events and attractions (54 of them free) are being lined up for Coastival – A Different View, including Club Coastival, video mapping on the side of the Spa complex, and a range of music, entertainment and arts.

At various venues across Scarborough there will be gallery concerts, classical music, theatre, arts installations and exhibitions, some of which will continue for the remainder of February.

There will also be a range of activities and events for children, under the Rollercoastival banner. For more details about this event click here.
