Founded by local resident Martin Wheelton and his team two years ago, it’s a homegrown event built on live music, dance DJ’s with good old-fashioned guitar-strumming and drum-bashing. Now in its third year and growing to 5,000 capacity for ALL AGES Cloud 9 is a community festival with more stages and entertainment than ever before.
Less than an hour from Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and Birmingham and only 90 minutes from Sheffield, Leeds and Nottingham!
This year’s festival supports C.A.L.M (Campaign Against Living Miserably) is a charity reg no 1110621 set up in response to the high suicide rate among young men, currently the biggest killer of men under the age of 35. It is a campaign and charity set up for and on behalf of young men.  Most men who kill themselves aren’t in contact with any other agency.  And to be blunt, they don’t identify with much out there. When asked, what they indicated they wanted was practical, anonymous, confidential help from professionals. Which is why CALM was formed.

What is it Cloud 9 all about? As one of the organiser’s Hannah explains; “Cloud 9 has been growing year on year and we wanted to extend the fun to the entire community this year by ensuring it was an all ages event. With a hugely eclectic mix of music and activities we have ensured to keep ticket costs low so that as many people in the local area and come and enjoy everything we have to offer!’

So long live Summer on Cloud 9, and float on down.

The massive dome dance tent headliners are still to be announced, but with a mix already of sub-thumping drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep, knees-up housey beats and alternative dance with XFM DJ’s, Cassette jam and Medicine 8. The Euphonic Fuzion Hard Dance Tent will be bring its mix of hard dance and techno with the likes of Rob Tissera and Amber D – more info to come soon…

Added to this already large line up is the Same Teens house party On new year’s eve Same Teens were offered a 500 capacity club in which to throw a party. Only trouble was they all fancied going to a house party. Cue ten days of gathering, building, finding and scouring and making and, hey presto, The House Party was born. What could be more nuts than a house party in a club you may ask? A house party at a festival, that’s what.

The wardrobes and chests of drawers are loaded up with clothes n’that, there’s dresses to put on and there’ll even be cheese and pineapple on sticks.

You can also get a massage in the bedroom, tea and biscuits in the kitchen. By night it’ll all go a bit more crackers with some of their friends coming along to play their favourite records. Problems with noisy neighbours will be eliminated as they’ll finish the night with a silent disco. Just don’t be sick in anyone’s garden. The Guardian Guide called ‘the perfect night out’. You’ll be dancing one minute and talking broken biscuits in the kitchen the next’ and we think you’re gonna love it.

Join them for tea and toast all day and a bit of the night too - And for those of you wanted to chill out and get away from it all our Chill Out tent will provide you all the relaxation you need.
