The Kids Are Solid Gold’s (TKASG) annual official Stockton Weekender After Show Party at The Georgian Theatre on Saturday 27 July has today confirmed Clement Marfo as the headliner.
The Urban Music Award winner will headline the official post Weekender event, organised by Tees Music Alliance, after Primal Scream have finished entertaining the masses down on the riverside.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2010, Clement Marfo has supported the likes of Plan B, Rizzle Kicks and Florence & The Machine. His track Champion became the official theme song for WWE's Royal Rumble, as well as the title song for Sky Sports' coverage of The NFL Super bowl XLVI and BBC's coverage of the London Olympics.
His previous single Us Against The World was picked up by EA Sports and featured on the No.1 selling computer game Fifa '13. With a huge following watching his every move, Clements latest track Last Night was released in November 2012, went on to rack up over 1.2million hits on YouTube.
He has performed to sell out crowds across the UK and racked up a huge and diverse fan base due to his cross genre sound and electric live performances.
Opening up the night are Edinburgh six-piece Stanley Odd, who TKASG recently hosted at Stockton Calling, to a full capacity and buoyant crowd.
The hip-hop act have opened for the likes of Arrested Development, Asian Dub Foundation, and Easy Star All-Stars, in amongst headline appearances including T in the Park, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, the Insider festival, Wickerman and Celtic Connections.
Andy Carr, of TKASG, said, “We are thrilled to be bringing Clement to the North East. After seeing him twice at the Camden Crawl last year, we can guarantee this gig will be absolutely unforgettable. We are also delighted to bring Stanley Odd back to Stockton so soon after their rapturously received performance in March”.
“We knew that the stakes were high when deciding which acts would follow on from Primal Scream, but we think Clement and Stanley Odd will keep the momentum going perfectly.”
The after show party will be FREE to those with a festival wristband but entry will be on a first come, first served basis.
Confirmed to play alongside Primal Scream on the riverside site on Saturday is Spiritualized, Temples, Kodaline, King Charles and Sons & Lovers.
Performing on Sunday 28 July is Dexys, The Proclaimers, James Skelly & The Intenders, Dutch Uncles, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Wild Smiles, and Bo Bruce.
Craig Campbell and Hoist The Rag will provide the comedy, with more artists still to be announced across all four stages.
Only around two weeks remain of the Early Bird prices: £25 a day, £35 for the weekend and £70 for camping. Ticket prices will increase by £5 across all tickets from 1 May onwards.
TMA are encouraging festivalgoers to book early and take advantage of the incredibly low prices – some of the lowest in the country for the calibre of artists.
