Castlepalooza Music & Arts Festival is taking place, as always, on the August Bank Holiday weekend in the enchanting Charleville Castle, Tullamore. Over the past 5 years, Castlepalooza has become known for bringing an eclectic mix of acts to the wooded wonderland of Charleville Castle, and 2011 certainly aims to please every musical taste. 

On the line-up: Hip Hop legends Naughty by Nature; electronic maestro Hudson Mohawke; Clock Opera; the delightful Django Django; one of the nations favourites, Jape; who is also bringing his Visonair project to the festival; French beatmaker Onra: The Jimmy Cake; Admiral Fallow; Sacred Animals; The Minutes; These Charming Men; Papa Gee & Colours Afrobeat Foundation; Squarehead; Planet Parade; Lost Chord; Sleep Thieves; The Riptide Movement and some Castlepalooza favourites, Adebisi Shank; Codes; Daithi O’ Dronai and Le Galaxie. 

Continuing with the tradition of supporting and showcasing some of Irelands best, and newest kids on the block, Castlepalooza is also delighted to unveil Conall Bailey; Dogs; El Hombre Jokes; Elaine Mai; Electric Penguins; Enemies; Go Panda Go; Jogging; Kid Karate; Lasertom & the Blast Crew; Moths; The Casanova Wave; The Danger Is; The Young Folk; Toby Karr; TransAutoRadio and We Are Losers. 

Keeping festival goers up late this year in the Boudoir Big Top will be DJs Bingo & Dazboy, the Bad to the Bone soundsystem which includes John Maclean ex Beta Band/The Aliens & his brother Dave from Django Django, and some of our best-loved regulars, BigDishGo; Steve Reddy & Tu-Ki.

And there’s even more good news for festival goers this year - the picturesque surroundings have expanded, with new area, The Courtyard, - opening on Saturday & Sunday.  The Courtyard, which is nestled amongst the old chapel of Charleville Castle, will offer another place to laze the days away, and will also host live performances each night.  

In addition to the music, there will be lots of other events to keep festival fans entertained, including a Day Spa for those who party hard and need some tender loving care, a series of workshops involving all types of dance & crafts, our Sunday afternoon Ceili, Art Exhibitions and many more fun things yet to be announced.

Castlepalooza supports the Charleville Castle restoration project. A portion of each ticket will go towards the ongoing work carried out on one of Ireland’s most historic landmarks.
