Gottwood Festival is gearing up for it's fifth edition, with a lineup bristling with talent from the electronic music underground, as well as providing a showcase for some impressive emerging talent and names to watch in 2014.

Gottwood 2014 has announced the first line up bringing together, among others, drum’n’bass pioneer Calibre, forward-thinking techno henchman Stephan Bodzin, the unique talent of Crazy P Soundsystem, Dense & Pika, Max Cooper (live), Craig Richards, PBR Streetgang and Kris Wadsworth, resident of Berlin’s Panorama Bar Prosumer, the long-standing Ralph Lawson, live house dons Session Victim and the big-hitting Italian duo Tale of Us. !

A party hidden in the middle of the woods in Wales, this annual event has been growing over the last four years, and looks ahead to its most special event yet. !

Calibre is a household name in drum’n’bass, a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and self-taught producer. With his seminal 2001 release ‘Musique Concrete’ on Fabio’s Creative Source label, he demonstrated a signature sound that has been evident throughout his career. With a recent induction into the acclaimed ‘Fabriclive’ series, he continues to be an integral part of the evolution of drum’n’bass. Calibre appears with MC DRS on the Hit & Run lineup. !

Few DJs have made a career sticking in one place; Larry Levan made Paradise Garage legendary, Frankie Knuckles spawned an entire genre at The Warehouse, and Craig Richards has helped to immortalise Fabric in club culture with his weekly residency. Considered one of the world's greatest selectors thanks to his genreless music policy, he continues to push boundaries. As co-founder of The Nothing Special events, and labels Heel to Steel alongside Seth Troxler, and Fist or Finger with Jozif, he is a man devoted to his art. !

Wigflex bring a rare live set from progressive techno pioneer Stephan Bodzin. Citing Kraftwerk, Motörhead and Miles Davis as influences, Stephan creates thought-provoking and evolutionary electronica. As a classically trained musician Stephan began to concentrate his efforts in electronic music at 17 after discovering no human efforts could replicate the sound of a drum machine.

Gottwood veteran Max Cooper returns to the woods to play alongside Stephan Bodzin. When you're regularly compared to Aphex Twin you have to realise there's something a little special about you, and since his first official release in 2007, Cooper has developed a sound that sits somewhere between 4/4 techno and ambient electronica. Playing live is where Max is most intriguing. !

Crazy P Soundsystem hold a place in every dance music enthusiast’s heart, their style a whimsy, yet throbbing mix of underground disco, pop elements, the history of house and driving electronica. Crazy P have established themselves as go-to party people, delivering a relentless, high-energy show. Futureboogie also brings acclaimed duo PBR Streetgang for whom the We Love series at Space in Ibiza has become something of a second home. Tom Thorpe and Bonar Bradberry’s diverse tastes incorporate boogie, disco and soul, but their sound remains firmly rooted within house, as showcased through 2020 Vision, Wolf Music and Futureboogie.

Also lined up for Gottwood 2014, catch the unstoppable Eton Messy, Maribou State, Avatism live and Brackles. See Marko Zenker (live), Mo Kolours (live), Gang Colours (DJ), Mr Beatnick and Medlar. Plus Back to Basics’ very own Dave Beer comes to the woods, 2 Bad Mice return after a cracking 2013, and many more. !
