Brownstock 2012 takes place from 31 Aug - 2 Sep, Stow Maries, Chelmsford, with sunny weather promised its bound to be a great weekend, and tickets are still available!

This year the Brown family will be opening the farm yet again for Brownstock Festival 2012. Coming from humble beginnings as a small party with just one stage on the back of a trailer Brownstock has quickly become an incredible annual event. However despite growing to the size it has it is still entirely run by the family (with a handful of friends helping along the way). In 2012 Brownstock is going bigger and better than ever before! With their best line up to date and new areas for you to explore, Brownstock 2012 has definitely got something for everyone.

The main stage headliners Labrinth, The Futureheads and Magistrates alongside Brownstock favourites The Milk and Stealing Signs, if that isn’t enough there is also have a wealth of unsigned bands to discover. This year the festival has teamed up with Doorly and his record label Pigeon Hole This! Doorly has managed to bring some of the biggest names in dance music to Brownstock including acts such as Nero, Zane Lowe, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Toddla T, Artwork, Jackmaster, Melé just to name a few! Not content with this Doorly has also managed to provide some extra entertainment from The Cuban Brothers and a Shooting Stars DJ Set from Angelos Epithemiou!

Here's a mix of what to expect

One of the new stages at Brownstock this year will be The Stumble Inn, catering for the festival goers with a taste for underground dance sounds in a feel good party environment.  Another new area this year is The Treehouse Stage, situated  between two old oak trees. The Treehouse will be a platform for upcoming bands a DJ’s across the weekend and will provide a different experience to any other stage at Brownstock in 2012.

Making it’s return in 2012 is the silent disco, it will allow you to keep partying until the early hours of the morning and gives you the choice of what to listen to with 2 DJ’s playing simultaneously half the tent could be listening to The Beatles whilst the other half listen Benga! If you have never attended a silent disco before make sure you do not miss this! Also returning this year will be the Piano Bar on the campsite, a great place for campers to pop into on their way in and out of the main arena, The Piano Bar is Brownstocks take on ‘the local’, a great place to go and relax on a sofa, read a newspaper and eat some homemade cakes all whilst great bands perform acoustic sets across the weekend! There are also a number of open mic sessions.  The Piano Bar will also be hosting some pianoercise classes for anyone wanting to burn a few calories!

Of course there is so much more than music at Bronwstock! Another brand new stage for 2012 is The Story Box, on Saturday you will be treated to some story telling from Mike Doddsworth and Carl Merry! There will also be some dance workshops where you will be able to learn some new moves to show off over the weekend! On Sunday The Storybox will be taken over by The Official Comedy club who we have team up with for the first time! For 2 hours on Sunday afternoon a selection of top comedians will have you in tears of laughter before you return to the music to enjoy your final evening at Brownstock 2012!

The Brownstock Park is back with 6 pro skateboarders and 4 pro BMX riders with over 90 years experience between them ,you will not be disappointed!  Also in the park will be Team Traceur internationally recognised exponents of parkour and free running providing a number of performances for you to enjoy between bands on the main stage.

Ten Bomb return with The Art Camp to create another huge mural and various other erections over the weekend!

And finally, Farmer Browns food village, as usual the only beef burgers available are from cows lovingly raised by Dad Brown on the farm.  As well there we will be exotic game burgers, stone baked pizza, an old school BBQ bus, Mediterranean wraps and of course The Eatery will be on the campsite feeding all the hungry campers!
