Creation Suffolk is pleased to announce the inaugural Big Tree Festival will be held within the beautiful surroundings of Euston Park, near Bury St Edmunds and Thetford.
The festival is also pleased announce ticket prices for the event, which will be available on general sale from March 4th. Tickets will also be available at an exclusive Early Bird rate for a limited time only.
The festival has already announced Beverley Craven and Dodgy will be headlining the bicycle powered acoustic stage, and will be announcing the second and Main Stage headliners shortly. They have also confirmed the appearance of popular CBeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell.
In addition to the live music there will be an abundance of workshops geared for all ages, featuring a wide range of fun and educational activities for kids, families and just about everyone else.
There will also be guest speakers, a festival circus, street theatre, late night silent disco, interactive polar bears, puppet theatres, storytelling by The Roald Dahl Museum, eco-themed workshops with Suffolk Wildlife Trust, and much more still to be confirmed.
The Big Tree will even be featuring its very own festival allotment, where you can learn more about sustainability, growing your own vegetables and having a go at planting them yourself. And you can even buy them from our very own local festival greengrocer!
If action-packed workshops and gardening isn’t your thing, then you can wind down and relax in the wood fired hot tubs. Or maybe you might prefer a relaxing massage and treatment in the holistic area.
Andy Reed of Creation Suffolk quotes:
‘The Big Tree Festival is a new way of thinking for Suffolk’s entertainment and festival scene Our philosophy is to demonstrate that music festivals can achieve much more than just entertainment. Of course we want everyone to have a great time, but we think we can introduce a little bit of inspiration into people’s lives and help the environment at the same time. We believe we have a responsibility not just to limit our own environmental impact during the festival, but also to demonstrate and inspire people to become greener and more sustainable themselves. Furthermore, we will be working closely with Suffolk Wildlife Trust and other local organisations to develop local environmental projects such as tree planting schemes, orchards for schools; and other environmental projects in and around Suffolk.
People are already getting behind the ethos of the Big Tree and are excited to experience a new and innovative approach to the region’s festival scene. The Big Tree will have a laid back, family and community feel, which we are finding people are really relating to.
To illustrate this further, we’ve made sure our ticket prices are designed to be fair and affordable, without reducing quality. We are also ensuring traders at the festival share this belief. Our customers will not see inflated prices for tickets, food and drink at the Big Tree.’
The Big Tree Festival will be coming to Suffolk over the weekend of 2nd to 4th August 2013.
