The excellent Beardy Folk Festival, one of Festival For All’s favourite events of early summer, returns to Shropshire’s Hopton Court 12th-15th June 2025.

It’s been eight glorious years since this bijou little gem appeared on the UK festival scene; FFA have been blessed to attend them all… and our Reviewers love it!

Here’s what our guys thought of 2024’s extravaganza in FFA’s Beardy Folk Festival 2024 Review.

It’s a cracking small but perfectly formed festival that has grown in stature year on year, and is now an established benchmark for all that is good on the festival scene. It’s in a lovely location for starters - Hopton Court is a stunning country gaff, centred around the Grade II Listed Georgian Country House’s splendid Walled Garden … there is even an Orangery hosting gigs and events!  Outside the walls, Beardy offers all kinds of happenings in the Woods and Meadow, plus much else. The quality is stunning; from camping, to facilities, to comprehensive food and drink offerings, to music policy, artist quality, and all round general organisation. There is little to fault here.

Two stages offer back-to-back music all day, with no down time, and if you can drag yourself away from such high calibre entertainment right across the schedule, do check out all the other merriment going down across the site, not least the splendid, and competitively priced Hobson’s Ales, amongst a plethora of fine stallholder options.

Like most festivals in the know, Beardy champion the fact that the term ‘Folk’ is a very loose term that covers an extensive range. For quality eclectic line-up, Beardy absolutely nail it. They have managed it consistently since the early days, and 2025 is no exception, with class acts like The Magic Numbers, Skinny Lister, Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys, 3 Daft Monkeys and many more across a fun packed four nights.

As with all the best festivals, it’s the People that make Beardy so special – from the organiser’s commitment to quality in all things, to all the support team who always go that extra mile, and, not least, to the exceptional Beardy crowd. This crew are happy to leave any musical prejudices at the gate, and revel in the diverse musical policy that the organisers bring to the party – and what a party! No wonder we can’t keep our reviewers away.

There are still tickets available last time we checked.  So do join FFA and the rest of the Beardy crew in those fields – They will may you very welcome!
