Beardy Folk Festival returns to Shropshire’s beautiful Grade II Listed Georgian Country House Hopton Court 15th-18th June 2023. Held in a wonderfully atmospheric Walled Garden and House grounds, this charming Bijou event is an absolute delight.  Our FFA Reviews love it!  Here’s what we had to say about Beardy’s 2022 malarkey in the FFA Beardy Folk Festival 2022 Review. It was a splendid weekend:

“What a lovely festival. No wonder FFA Reviewers have been attending Beardy since its inception five years ago. Even with this Reviewers critical eye, there really is nothing to fault. It’s a wonderful weekend. After the last couple of years of hell, to walk freely in those fields amongst those wonderful Beardy folk again was absolute bliss. Remember that Beardy Folk Festival will always live in the annuls of British festivals as perhaps the only mainstream festival to successfully stage in both the bleak 2020 and 2021. A magnificent achievement in very trying times. (They probably still play a little fanfare every time Festival Organiser Beardy Dave enters a room!). This year, the gloves were off and Beardy revelled in the New Normal... and revel it did.”

Apart from arguably their best line-up to date, featuring artists of the calibre of Seth Lakeman, Skerryvore, Merry Hell, Martin Carthy, Rusty Shackle, and The Longest Johns, amongst a very comprehensive line-up spread across two stages (there are always full days of back-to-back music at Beardy), the festival also offers a packed programme featuring a wealth of non-music activities such as Workshops, Yoga, Ceilidh Dancing, and loads more for adults and kids alike. New for 2023, Beardy will be offering The Late Lounge for music and dancing when you should really have gone to bed!  Don’t forget that Beardy also offers extremely competitively prices ales, through their ongoing alliance with the excellent local Hobsons Brewery.
