Ian Forshew, founder of Beach Break Live today commented on the extreme weather conditions that battered this year's installment of Beach Break Live, the UK's ultimate student festival: "Beach Break 2012 has no doubt been our best year yet! The atmosphere has been astounding. It was the worst storm that has hit the area in 50 years! I think the severe weather conditions have actually brought everyone together in a show of solidarity, Beach Breakers have just embraced the wind and rain, the sense of community was stronger than ever and they partied hard all week! As the sun emerged on Sunday, the festival buzzed and the beach glistened!"

Although the festival experienced the worst weather in its six year history, there's no doubt that Beach Break Live 2012 was far and away the best ever. Thursday signaled the beginning of the wet weather, festival goers tied down their tents, invested in some durable wellies and headed out onto the site to get wet and enjoy some great Beach Break mayhem. Despite the weather, Beach Break Live carried on as normal, revelers enjoyed artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Friendly Fires, Labrinth, Chase & Status and many more as well as The Celtic Games which saw sumo wrestling, blindfolded boxing and more plus wake-boarding, skiing, snowboarding all continued in the Student Extreme Games.

ARTISTS AND FESTIVAL GOERS EMBRACE DREADFUL WEATHER TO MAKE BEACH BREAK LIVE 2012 A HUB OF FESTIVAL MADNESS!

Beach Break Live has proved that the British just do not care about the weather, last weekend the festival experienced its worst ever weather at the stunning site in Pembrey Country Park, South Wales. 70Mph gale force winds descended on 17,000 festival goers along with continuous rain and clouds, while Sunday finally saw an outbreak of sun for standout sets from Friendly Fires and The Maccabees among others. To assist festival goers in their efforts, Beach Break Live's site management team sent weather crews out into the campsite, equipped with extra pegs and rigging, to help anyone who needed urgent assistance and to ensure that all tents were secured.  Several hundred tents and poncho's were distributed free to help protect ticket holders from the continuous rain and winds. The variety of artists on offer kept everyone dancing whether they were in Merlin's Forest for High Contrast or Benga and Skream who said it was the best crowd they have had in years. Or at the Dell Main Stage where the wonderful Labrinth and epic Dizzee Rascal played to a soaked and stoked audience! All the perseverance was rewarded to Beach Breakers as the sunshine broke through on Sunday, bodies fled to the beach and The Wreck stage was buzzing throughout the day.

Dizzee Rascal tweeted, "Beach Break Live was amazing, best energy so far!"DJ Fresh said of his Beach Break Live performance, "wowwww!!! insane set!" Clement Marfo & The Frontline says, "Beach Break Live was a remarkable festival for us,  as well as being a part of. Even with the rain, the crowd got into the thick of it. So much variety in things to do and see at the festival and it was great to be sharing the stage with great artists like Chase & Status who entirely demolished the night with a great live show."

Beach Break Live had everything this year, from burlesque lessons on the beach to hot tubs overlooking the sea and campers.  A pilgrimage was made by students from all over the country who will no doubt make the same journey in 2013 all over again. Aidan Waller from the University of Exeter said Beach Break 2012 "topped last year's party by a bloody mile! Epic doesn't even begin to describe how awesome it was."  Organisers and festival goers alike are all looking forward to next year's event but 2012 is already proving to be a very hard year to beat!
