Starry Skies Family Camp returns to the Monnow Valley, South Wales, to provide a fun-filled adventure from July 22nd to July 26th 2015.
Starry Skies provides a beautiful setting and a huge range activities for families to reconnect with nature and the great outdoors. With a working farm, miles of rolling meadows, rivers and streams, ancient woodland, mountains and hills to explore, it's the perfect place for a Famous Five style adventure! Children of all ages can take part in something and adults can relax knowing their kids are in safe hands.
Now in its third year, there are some exciting new activities planned. These include the Planetarium – where children can monitor the moon and learn about how stars work, plus the Woodland Tribe – where everyone is invited to become nature warriors in an area based on adventure playgrounds from all over the world. There will be singing sessions, bubble-making, windmill building to name but a few.
The programme will also contain some firm family favourites for example: the forest school, fancy dress disco, a talent show, a treasure hunt, a farm tour and not forgetting the giant sandpit.
Brought to you by the team behind family-friendly Shambala Festival, Starry Skies has a petite capacity of 250 families. It provides an intimate camping experience - encouraging a neighbourly spirit and a friendly 'around the campfire' atmosphere amongst parents and children alike. Away from screens, everyone can connect with nature in a way that is not always easy to do in everyday life.
Rainproofing has also been carefully considered, essential for any British outdoor event! The centre camp, at the heart of the Starry Skies site, comprises an organic restaurant, a cinema, several workshop tents, a bookshop and the Giant Teepee with organised activities and live entertainment taking place throughout the day and into the evening.
Adults have plenty to choose from too with a pampering area offering a range of therapies; workshops in yoga, Tai Chi and other meditative arts; a bar stocked with everything from real ale to posh cocktails and post-watershed live entertainment programmed by the Shambala music team. As an optional extra, campers can even have fresh croissants, bread and papers delivered to their tents each morning!
With the Gower Peninsula, the Wye Valley and the Pembrokeshire coast within easy reach, campers can extend their trip beyond the weekend and make the most of the start of the summer holidays.
Sidhartha Sharma, festival director says: “Starry Skies is a new hybrid. It’s a type of holiday somewhere between a festival and a camping trip. It’s all about exploring the surroundings; climbing trees, building dens, fishing in streams, going on woodland adventures with your next-tent-neighbours! The things we took for granted when we were kids but which are increasingly rare now.”
Starry Skies takes place from July 22nd to July 26th in the Monnow Valley, South Wales. Tickets are priced at £139 plus booking fee for adults with children's ticket priced between £29 and £39 plus booking fee.
