Grammy Award Winner Mary Chapin Carpenter will be performing with her acoustic trio at Folk By The oak, the one day festival in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Oak Field in Hatfield House this July. Performing with long-time friends Jon Carroll (on piano) and much acclaimed Irish musician and songwriter John Doyle (on guitars and bouzouki), her set will encompass music from the award winning singer-songwriter’s 13 albums.
Over the course of her career, Carpenter has won five Grammy Awards, was named the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year in 1992 and 1993, and in 2012 was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her compositions have also been covered by a diverse assortment of artists including Joan Baez, Wynonna Judd, Cyndi Lauper, Trisha Yearwood, Maura O’Connell, Mary Black and Dianne Reeves. Mary has also collaborated, on record and / or on stage, with the likes of Joan Baez, Shawn Colvin, Dolly Parton, the Indigo Girls and Tony Bennett.
Folk by the Oak are also delighted to announce The Young’uns will perform on the Acorn Stage, which will be headlined by psychedelic, neo-classic folk rockers Moulettes.
