After the announcement that Xtra Mile Recordings will be taking over the GreenHouse stage on the Friday at Trees, today it's been revealed that the legends at Alcopop! will be doing the same on the Saturday.
The stage will feature numerous Alcopop acts playing special acoustic sets on Saturday 13th July. The takeover includes Lex from johnny foreigner, Stagecoach, My First Tooth, Gunning for Tamar, The Attika State and founder Jack pOp’s own Jurassic Pop, a non-label affiliated trio who sing solely about Jurassic Park.
Other Alcopop full band sets already announced are The Crimea, Stagecoach, Fight Like Apes, Freeze the Atlantic, Bear Cavalry and Gunning for Tamar.
2000trees also announced today other acts set to play the GreenHouse, including Fitz, El Morgan, Kitten & Bear and Chalk. Jack pOp, from Alcopop Records says: “We’re massive fans of everything about 2000 Trees, and it’s lovely that they’ve invited us to get involved with this takeover. Our artists can bring a really beautiful dimension to their sets on occasions like this, and it’s a good place for our friends to come when they have crushing festival hangovers.”
This mirrors the XtraMile Recordings takeover on Friday night, which includes special acoustic sets from Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun, The Xcerts, Beans on Toast, Ben Marwood, Fighting Fiction, Emily Barker & the Red Clay Halo and Crazy Arm.
Andy Rea, of 2000trees, says: “We’ve brought together the amazing artists from these two great labels to offer something unique to our fans, who have always loved the GreenHouse stage as a place to enjoy acoustic sets in the sunshine – and as Jack says it’s a great way to get over a hangover!
“We’re thrilled to be spending a fun-filled weekend with everyone and can’t wait for these one-off treats for fans of new and underground British music.”
2000trees has booked Frank Turner, Mystery Jets, Stornoway, King Charles, Funeral for a Friend, And So I Watch You From Afar, We Are The Ocean and INME, among 80 acts on four stages over three days.
