Teesside’s multi-venue, all day, music spectacular Stockton Calling returns on Saturday 30 March for its fourth year, after a record-breaking sell-out in 2012 – and now with it’s biggest line up thus far.

2013 sees the festivals stage count rise from five to seven, adding The Green Room and The Storytellers to the ever-growing huddle of venues taking part. These stages join ARC, KU, The Georgian Theatre, The Vault and The Sun Inn.

With over sixty acts playing the genre-straddling event, revelers will enjoy even more new and exciting music for their money.

Headlining the events biggest stage at ARC is indie rockers The Sunshine Underground, who brings with them their foot stomping, sing-a-long set.

Best known for hits Borders and Put You In Your Place, the trio has excellent festival pedigree having played Glastonbury, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds.

Exuberant pop quartet Swim Deep and psychedelic rock band TOY, who have both received huge critical acclaim of late, euphoric live act Exit Calm, Teesside prog-pop band Weird Shapes, Hartlepool roots troupe The Jar Family and melodic alt rockers Ambershift complete ARC’s bill.

Post-grunge rockers Nine Black Alps return from a three-year hiatus to headline KU’s stage. They’ve toured with the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Weezer, Biffy Clyro, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and played to thousands at major festivals and sell out tours.

London pop-fuelled trio LULS, glittering noise peddlers Death at Sea and passionate rockers 12 Dirty Bullets will join NBA along with local acts

Abel Raise The Cain, John and The Ragmen, Alistair Sheerin Band, Davey Bandman and Cellar Door.

The Georgian Theatre welcomes the newly honed sounds of former post-punk act Chapel Club. The band has recently revealed a new playful synth-pop sound that has had musos across the globe whipped in to frenzy.

Teesside indie-pop act Collectors Club, grimy hypnotic rockers The Wytches, bluesy brotherly trio The Family Rain, surf pop band Shucks, Italian garage-rock gods Go!Zilla, energetic indie rockers 3 Foot Ninja, seventies infused sounds of New Electric Ride and brooding blues rock group Goy Boy McIlroy complete the bill, making for eclectic listening.

The Vault will host local acts Musket, Village Green, James & The Natives, The Bluebuds, Huntsville, Paul Liddell and The Bends in its intimate underground setting.

Raucous rhythm and blues duo The Hot Soles and indie rockers with toe tapping melodies in abundance The Mexanines will get the crowd worked up in time for former Little Man Tate front man Jon Windle.

As the driving force behind the Sheffield based band, Jon enjoyed six top forty hits in the UK and two albums as well as sell-out tours across the world. Jon couples insightful lyrics with a blistering live performance that has garnered him a loyal following.

This years Sun Inn stage has been curated by Grass Route, and perfectly reflects their love of perky guitar based bands. Modern-skiffle pioneers The Hummingbirds top the bill with vintage rock’n’soul quartet The Quangos playing just before them.

Indie prodigies The Panoramic and the electrifying Little Night Terrors will both have the crowds with arms aloft and feet stomping. Local talent

comes in the shape of The Smiles, Billy The Kid (lead singer of Young Rebel Set), The Port Authority and Club of Rome.

Middlesbrough left-field promoters The Kids Are Solid Gold will move their popular programme from the Sun Inn to the larger stage at The Storytellers.

Fossil Collective adds their exquisitely structured songs and rich harmonies to the day’s proceedings. The Leeds based duo, one half of whom hails from Stockton, have toured with Grammy award winners Civil Wars and played sell out tours in their own right.

Fellow folk pop act Pale Seas has been gaining buckets of acclaim from the press and music audiences a like. Scotland gets a great representation courtesy of country rock act Three Blind Wolves, hip-hop sextet Stanley Odd and alternative dance act Discopolis.

Melodic five-piece Lilliput, York-based indie outfit Littlemores, two fifths of Young Rebel Set the Evans Brothers will be joined by some very special guests, and young rockers Rambler complete the bill.

North East music magazine NARC and their online outlet kyeo.tv bring a line up fuelled by rock and folk, and everything in between!

Hard-hitting, doom-laden rockers Nately’s Whore’s Kid Sister will bring a day of music to a mighty crescendo in the 60-capacity venue. Year of Birds, made up of members of Idiot Savant, Drunk In Hell and Russell & The Wolves, and Phil Saunders bring more riotous blasts of sound to the table.

Richard Dawson, By Toutatis, The Lindsay Tin and Natasha Haws provide delicate, insightful and all round intense beauty to proceedings, with Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra throwing in a fuse of gypsy jazz, country and soulful folk in to the mix.
