Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin is among a fresh wave of rock, indie, ska and reggae acts joining the line-up for Ramsbottom Festival. Jimi joins headliners British Sea Power performing to crowds on the Saturday evening, with folk-rockers Levellers kicking off the festival on Friday.

Other new acts joining the bill include: The Skints, Ska veteran Neville Staple & Luke Daniels. 

Joining the family arts programme for this year is the Wild in Art project, which will see a fantastical collection of colourful 3D sculptures including giant animals and magical creatures taking up residence on the cricket wicket at the centre of the festival site. The sculptures will have been designed and painted by children from local schools led by Wild in Art’s professional artists, the same team behind the Cow Parade in Manchester and the Olympic Mascots trail in London.

Organised by Bury’s The Met in partnership with The Bridgewater Hall, Rammy won Small Tourism Event of the Year at the Manchester Tourism Awards 2013. Stalls from local restaurants and street food vendors will be offering a variety of Great British grub and international cuisine, plus a special edition Ramsbottom Festival Ale. The quality of the festival’s beer is a definite point of pride and those who have love for craft beer and real ale may find it difficult to tear themselves away from the beer tents.

Camping

Burrs Country Park, located five miles from the festival site, offers a remote riverside campsite with toilets and water facilities available. Return coaches will be run each evening. Weekend camping including car parking is charged at £36 per tent, with nightly pitches from £15. Caravans and campervans can stay at Burrs Park caravan site. Getting there

Festival bus service from Manchester and Chorlton
A festival bus will depart from Chorlton Street, Manchester and Beech Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy each day of the festival. The bus will pick up at 5pm Friday 19 September, 12noon Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September and return at 11pm each day. Return tickets cost just £10 per day.
