The Indie Week Ireland artist showcase event will take place in Limerick City in April 2014. The festival's Canadian organisers say they are relocating the event from Dublin, where it has been located for 3 years, due to a combination of Limerick's strong music scene and support from Limerick City of Culture 2014.

The festival programme will feature up to 30 bands spread across four top Limerick music venues; Dolans, Bourkes, Cobblestone Joes and The Blind Pig.

Indie Week is a music festival about truly showcasing independent artists in front of industry.  As an artist-friendly festival, each act is listened to in the selection process and chosen on their musical merits. This means the acts aren’t lost in a giant band stew.

It’s about the music, not the competition. It’s about giving the underdog a chance. It’s about networking, learning, and sharing ideas. It’s about getting a leg up in the near impossible landscape of the music business.

Yes there is a competition element during the festival as industry judges pick the top act of the festival which will be awarded a trip to Toronto, Canada Oct 15-19 to headline at Indie Week Canada!!! They pay for up to 5 flights and accommodations for up to 5 band members / band members only.
