Green Gathering 2015 Overview
The Green Gathering returns to its picturesque site near Chepstow in Wales. Landscaped grounds high above the Wye Valley offer stunning views of the Severn estuary and bridges; the ruins of neoclassical Piercefield House provide an atmospheric backdrop; and the rolling parkland of the site, encircled by woods, has ample space for camping.
The counter culture - live. Thousands of people living without fossil fuels for 4 days in surprising comfort with a plethora of music, speakers, poets, craftsmen and craftswomen. Kids and Teen zones, 10 and under free, cafes, stalls, fields, love and green life.
Music-wise, discover up and coming bands as well as old festival favourites. Swing, funk, folk, punk, dance, disco, ska, klezmer, reggae, indie, acid-rock and northern soul; you’d be hard pushed to avoid dancing like a wild thing most nights if you’re that way inclined. The Green Gathering’s own West Country cider and ale bar provides tipples to whet your whistle, although unlike at many festivals, there’s no ban on bringing your own favourite beverages onto site.
Away from the music stages there’ll be opportunities to learn traditional skills in their Craft area and to explore pathways to green futures with Permaculture and Transition groups. Veteran activists will be on hand to share information and tactics with you in the Campaigns field, while in the Speakers’ Forum, experts and mavericks present a huge range of topics for debate.
Ticket prices (from): Adult Weekend Early Bird £75 including Camping.
Green Gathering 2015 Event Info
The Green Gathering follows the tradition of environmentally and ethically conscious events that have been known for over 30 years. These gatherings developed into the main ‘green’ events in Britain, if not the world, showcasing future technologies, alternative ways of life and inspired many people to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle before Green Living became mainstream.
The Green Gathering promotes and platforms sustainable lifestyles through combining education with entertainment.
Powered by renewable energy it will also host lively family gathering favourites including ethical markets, organic catering, speakers and films, music and cabaret stages, healing and holistic therapies as well as a variety of esoteric alternatives, traditional British crafts and workshops. There will naturally be a very fun, creative, energetic children’s area. At The Green Gathering families are invited to play and learn together, relax and have fun.
The gathering is inclusive and accessible with a specialist area with a team of dedicated people that will be able to assist with additional and specialised needs. The Transition Area will network the Transition Towns movement and showcase local initiatives started by groups of people nationwide for the benefit of their community and for the environment, raising local awareness of the inevitable result of climate change and the end of cheap abundant oil.
The Green Gathering aims to encourage people to rethink how they live their life’s and to inspire them and their families to recycle, reuse and reduce, to become more self-reliant, to grow their own food, to learn a new skill and use public transport, all small practical steps to ease the negative impact modern society is having on the environment.
Disabilities: Their Assisted Camping Area is a very flat, accessible field close to the heart of the festival. Accessible toilets are here, plus they have a brilliant Assisted Camping crew who can help people with reduced mobility get around and access festival services and entertainments. Please contact them for more info about the level of assistance and range of services they provide.

Have you room in your car for another passenger? Life’s a journey – share it! Why not consider car sharing to Green Gathering this year?
With the average 100 mile car journey leading to over 20 kg of CO2 being produced, goCarShare has the potential to reduce the festival’s carbon footprint considerably.
It’s a great way to save money if you are driving and, as it is built around Facebook, you can see if your friends are going, find like-minded people to travel with, and check people out before agreeing to share.
‘By travelling in a full car, festival-goers carbon emissions become comparable to taking the train…… so it can make a real difference.’ (Source: DEFRA Report)... So if you’re driving, or need a lift, share the journey!
