Folkstone Ska Splash 2013 Overview

The “Folkestone Ska Splash” is the natural evolutionary title of the “Folkestone Skabour Festival”. Ska fans across the U.K. and around the world have given massive support to the Folkstone “Skabour Festival” and for their loyal support this medium size festival will now become a large scale production that incorporates the entire old town of Folkestone.

This will include the areas of the Creative Quarter, the Harbour and the Stade. It will also incorporate fifteen indoor venues, four outdoor venues, art exhibitions, markets, restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs with community interest and family areas at the “Ska Splash Family fountain” and “Ska Beach” Sunny Sands.

You will be able to enjoy a great selection of food and refreshments for all ages and tastes with a classic “MOD” & “SKA SCOOT” classic scooter show featuring Lambretta & Vespa Scooter Clubs as one of the many features of the “Ska Splash Trail”.

The new title for the festival, “Folkestone Ska Splash” was inspired by the “Skatalites” album which was released in 2002 and the natural seaside town character of “Folkestone”. The new title comes packed with attractions and equipped with state of the art, big festival production on the massive “One Ska Unity” main stage and at the famous “Trojan Lawn” with a legendary “All Star”, once in a life time line up that can’t be missed, “Sun, Sea and Ska”.

Artists booked to appear include The Skatalites, The Selecter, Neville Staple Band, The Beat, Bad Manners, The Toasters, and The Dualers.
