Bass is stated to be the UK’s only black music festival that commission’s new work. 20 events / 160 performers / 23 partners / 18 pieces of expression / 12 venues / 25 days of BASS Festival… are some of the highlights of BASS Festival 2012. BASS Festival 2013 is sure to be bigger and better, with larger audiences and one- of- a-kind commissions.  For 2013, Punch Records presents the theme for BASS Festival 2013….SOUL.  

In the 8th year of the festival, they are exposing the powerful wonder of Soul on music trends and upcoming talents. BASS Festival delves into all aspects of Black culture and its impact on the UK.  BASS 2013 theme is a journey of the influence of Soul on music, Birmingham, and black Britain. Soul will unearth the powerful impacts of immigration and industry on the Soul sound and engrave civic pride through exploration of the Soul of Birmingham’s schools, communities, prestigious venues, and digital audiences.
