LA band MILO GREENE have co-written and produced a film, entitled Moddison, to accompany their debut album, which is due for release on January 21st through Fierce Panda.
Over the past few weeks, ClashMusic.com have been showing snippets of the film and have exclusively revealed the full-length film today in the UK:
Watch Moddison here:
MODDISON is a series of interconnected music videos, which tells the tale of obsessive doomed love; paralleling the issues explored on their self-titled debut album.
The 37-minute film was shot over a period of five days, just after the album was recorded. It is set to the landscapes of the Shaver Lake area in California, where the band had first written their songs together. The rustic setting reveals the creative source behind the bands’ overarching cinematic aesthetic in both sight and sound.
Andrew Heringer of the band explains the importance of film to Milo Greene’s music:
“Film was a constant inspiration during the recording process of this album. Making Moddison was our way of linking the album and film together; while also giving people another reason to listen through the album in its’ entirety because, like the journey of a film, we see the album as one full piece of music.”
Causing a stir in the UK, Milo Greene can count the likes of Steve Lamacq, Mary Anne Hobbs and Huw Stephens as big supporters at radio, as well as seeing the likes of Notion, The Sun and The Independent hailing them as the next Cali band to make it big this year.
2012 saw the band breaking America. They played popular national television shows, such as, The Letterman Show, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien, and also toured back home with The Walkmen, The Civil Wars and Grouplove.
