LEAF ON BOLD STREET – MARCH 2013 LISTINGS  LEAF, 65-67 BOLD STREET, LIVERPOOL, L1 4EZ

Saturday 2nd March Harvest Sun Presents: Colorama + The Wobbly Hearts + Special Guest DJ Edwyn Collins

A very welcome return to Liverpool sees baroque/psych pop ensemble Colorama bring their summery good vibes to LEAF.

On the road in support of new EP ‘Do the Pump’, the defining cut from fifth LP ‘Good Music’ released last August, the acclaimed album was the first to be sung entirely in English, after a series of releases in English and the band’s native Welsh.

Recorded as a three-piece, the LP is the band’s leanest and most candid to date, with newly installed producer Edwyn Collins capturing their driving live sound while retaining the ethereal elements that saw their 2009 LP ‘Magic Lantern Show’ described as a ‘soft psych classic’ by BBC 6Music DJ Sean Rowley.

‘Good Music’ won similar plaudits, NME approving of the album’s ‘charmingly gawky ’60s pop’ and The Independent awarding the disc a four-stars.
