Following his sold out EP, ‘The Bear’ and debut album ‘The Struck World’ in 2010, Jamie Harrison will be releasing his second album ‘Get Under The Carpet’ on November 28th 2011.
Hailing from Bristol, Jamie makes music like no other, fusing jazz, ragtime and traditional English folk into faultless guitar playing and sad, comic lyrics. The folk singer and songwriter spent the end of 2010 touring the UK and Europe with well-known Manchester-based musician Liz Green, gaining plenty of praise along the way, with 6 Music support from the likes of Jarvis Cocker and Stuart Maconie.
'Under The Carpet' album cat no. RDC 032 - released. November 28, 2011
This blues mixed-bag is a series of live sessions recorded within one week with a band of gifted but aimless man-children. Expect to hear an eclectic concoction of garage jazz, electric guitars, clunky accordions and chanting choruses. Released as a limited edition, wax sealed, handmade CD.

Jamie Harrison, Red Deer Club’s up and coming folk/blues singer and songwriter will be playing at The Art of Tea, Didsbury, Manchester on Sunday 20th November. Support comes from Rozi Plain and This is the Kit.
Rozi Plain
Born Rosalind Leyden, Fellow Bristol-dweller Rozi Plain is a guitar-playing singer and songwriter who sings songs of life’s tales in a fragile yet humble tone. Whether playing alone or with her cluster of musician friends and family, Rozi plain has the ability to silence a room within seconds. Not just a singer and songwriter but a business-woman too, Rozi and a handful of her closest friends and family set up Bristol-based Cleaner Records, and later released her debut album ‘Inside Over Here’ on King Creosote’s Fence Records in late 2008. Rozi often performs with fellow-musicians Francois and the Atlas Mountains, This is the Kit and Sleeping States which has lead to tours across the UK, Europe and USA, attracting attention from Devandra Banhart naming ‘Inside Over Here’ one of his albums of the year. Keeping things close to home, Rozi has also graced the festival stages of Green Man and End of the Road. Finger-picking electric guitars play the backbone, accompanied by unexpected handclaps and repetitive drum patterns. Its ongoing train-track rhythm is simple yet contagious. Album number two is in the pipeline, a glimpse of which we look forward to hearing at Didsbury’s The Art of Tea.

This is the Kit
A mismatched psychedelic band of ever-changing musicians, depending on which friends are available form the enchanting sounds of This is the Kit, lead by the beautiful voiced, Kate Stables. They’ve worked with industry experts since the word go’s debut album ‘Krulle Bol’ was produced by PJ Harvey’s Producer John Parish, followed by Jesse D Vernon of Bristol’s Morningstar and the Moonflowers for album number two, ‘Wriggle out the Restless’. Elements of Kate’s voice resemble Laura Marling’s and her guitar playing’s not far off either, which when teamed with eery whistling and violins add a haunting edge to her simple structured songs, none of which sound the same. Kate’s banjo-playing friend among many others is a must have, who together create a full and atmospheric feel. This is the Kit are currently working on their third album.
