Red Rooster Festival 2013 Cancelled Overview

The beautiful grounds of Euston Hall, Suffolk will be the location for the new and exciting, down and dirty, Red Rooster festival, which launches this September 13-15th.

A new Rhythm and Blues festival Launches!! Embracing the sounds and lifestyle of the American Deep South, Red Rooster aims to become the premier boutique festival for Rhythm and Blues,Americana, Soul, Roots and Country music.

Red Rooster Festival 2013 Cancelled Event Info

A whisky sippin', guitar strummin', banjo pickin', rib suckin', weekend of Southern blues and country in the heart of Suffolk County.

Camping: Camping is free for all festival guests. Glamping options are also available.

Opening Times: Starting in the afternoon of the 13th September 2013 and finishing in the early hours of 15th September.    A free farmers market will then be available to all their guests before they make their way home on Sunday 15th September.

 

Red Rooster Festival 2013 Cancelled Travel Info

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN: The direct train from London is Liverpool St to Stowmarket.

The trains leave every hour on the half hour and it is the London to Norwich train. It's about 1hour and twenty minutes.

The other option is London Kings Cross to Cambridge / change at Cambridge to Thetford. It's about 1hr and 30 minutes. The change over waiting time is about 5 minutes.

TRAVELLING BY ROAD

Getting to Suffolk County and Red Rooster festival is easier than shooting big fish in a small barrel.

If you have a Sat Nav the postcode is IP24 2QW

If you're travelling from London, don't use it until you are well out of London, otherwise it could take you a longer route....

London is about 2 hours from the festival

Norwich is a 30 minute drive

Ipswich is a 40 minute drive.

Bury St Edmunds is a 25 minutes drive.

From West London take the North circular across to the A41.

Take a left onto the A41 and get onto the A1.

Go north up the A1 past Knebworth and a little further on take the A505 across to the A14 to Newmarket.

Stay on A14 until you see signs to the A11.

Follow A11 towards Thetford - BUT - after village of Elveden take an immediate right to Barnham and RAF Honnington. Go through Barnham and follow avenue of oaks to the next road junction A1088 - take a right and the entrance to Euston is on your left.

From East London: The other route is to go along the Embankment

Through the city - past Canary Wharf - on the A113 to the M11 / Then on to the A11

Follow A11 towards Thetford - BUT - after village of Elveden take an immediate right to Barnham and RAF Honnington. Go through Barnham and follow avenue of oaks to the next road junction A1088 - take a right and the entrance to Euston is on your left.

There are currently MAJOR roadworks on the last leg of the A11 as they are turning it into a dual carriageway (will be very handy for the future). It is currently closed in the evening after 8.00pm.

If you are travelling after 8pm:

STAY on the A14 to Bury St Edmunds.

Turn off at Junction 42 going towards Fornham.

Once you come out of Fornham, you go over 2 roundabouts (first small, second large)

Go Left at Second Roundabout to Thetford. Stay on road for 15 minutes until you get to village of Barnham.

Go right at lights into Barnham.

Go through Barnham and follow avenue of oaks to the next road junction A1088 - take a right and the entrance to Euston is on your left.

TRAVELLING BY COACH

There is also a direct National Express coach service from London to Thetford. Its about 2 and a half hours.

LOCAL TAXIS

There is a taxi firm at the Stowmarket station – Stowmarket Taxis. Taxi to Euston is around £25 and it's about a 25 minute cab ride.

Thetford is ten minutes from Euston. A taxi should be around £10.

There are numerous cab firms in both Thetford and Stowmarket.

Red Rooster Festival 2013 Cancelled Food and Drink

All food and drink on offer will be based around the theme of the Deep South too - expect to encounter one of the best BBQ joints outside of Mississippi! Whether it’s Cajun and Creole, BBQ, bourbon, or gumbo and jambalaya, the organisers are guaranteeing you'll leave their kitchen fuller than a tick on a hound dog. There’ll also be farmer’s market for guests to browse and take home a taste of the South before making their way home.
