Reading Festival 2023 Overview

Reading Festival Top 100 UK Festivals

Reading Festival is one of the UK's greatest music festivals. Having started out as a rock music festival back in the 70s, Reading Festival now embraces a whole range of genres, such as dance and hip-hop, while still remaining inherently rock focussed.

So popular have they become, Reading, and its northern sibling Leeds, are now a rite of passage for young festival-goers, while many older festival-goers will no doubt have many stories from fabled times at either festival.

And when it comes to the music, Reading's list of past headliners reads like a hall of fame, with the likes of Arctic Monkeys,  Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Green Day, Kasabian, Foo Fighters Guns N' Roses to name but a few. having all graced its main stage.

Reading now boasts a second main stage, with acts alternating between each which provides the benefit of not missing bands and having six headliners, rather than the traditional three.

In addition to some of the greatest rock bands on the planet, the festival also plays host to a some of the biggest dance and urban acts.  Reading has seven stages with a great range of music over three days from punk and metal, through rock, alternative and indie to dance and nu rave.

And beyond the music, Reading Festival also showcases an expanded line up of comedy as well as film screenings, giving festival-goers the ideal excuse to take a break from the mosh pits.
