The Whitehaven Festival Arena is an intimate ticketed area for live music which has previously hosted the likes of Katherine Jenkins, Madness, Status Quo, Razorlight and many others. This year the arena will host 70s rock legend Slade and pop-rock favourite McFly amongst other top bands.
The Whitehaven Festival prides itself in showcasing the ‘best of British’ and includes culinary delights from UK celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli along with soap star turned foodie and artisan cheese maker, Sean Wilson (Channel 5 ‘The Great Northern Cookbook’).
Festival-goers are assured this year to see tall ships, air shows, street comedy, the best of Cumbria’s food producers, and will be able to browse a giant continental market.
• Entrance to the Festival and most of the attractions is free!
• Concerts are ticketed and staged in the arena.
In addition to live music, air shows, fair rides AND fireworks, there is also an increasingly popular foodie element to the festival with their expanding Celebrity Chef Area.

This year's Celebrity Chef Area is set to be a huge feature of the weekend and is predicted to attract foodies from around the country. The chef theatre is a 200 seat venue which will once again be hosted by Whitehaven’s good friend and "the nation's favourite French Chef" Jean Christophe Novelli. They've also got soap star turned Northern Cook and artisan cheese maker Sean Wilson, and I'm A Celebrity star and haute cuisine teacher Rosemary Shrager displaying their talents!
Attached to the theatre this year is a 50 cover pop up restaurant with a tailor made menu created by Jean-Christophe for the festival. The pop-up restaurant will be specialising in seafood dishes and you can either make a reservation in advance or just walk in on the day. There will be over 100 food stalls including ‘Made in Cumbria’ and two continental Markets, one specialising in Italian produce.
