BoomTown Equinox 2014 Cancelled Overview
A statement from the organisers:
“It is with deep regret that the BoomTown Equinox event at The Royal Bath and West Showground on 8th March 2014 has been cancelled.
The 10,000 capacity interactive art and music event planned to take the world of indoor immersive shows to a meteoric new level. With huge stage sets erected in five large warehouses and 100s of performers and crazy theatrical characters roaming around the venues, the BoomTown Equinox was all set to be the indoor event to kick-start the countdown to the summer festival season in style!
Unfortunately the event has come under objection from the local authority and it became apparent that many of the conditions imposed upon the licence would seriously limit the scope and vision of the event.
“We are truly disappointed to have come this far with the planning of Equinox and unfortunately through circumstances beyond our control have had to pull the event after so much hard work and creativity has been invested into it. With top quality artists in place and an unbelievable response from the public, the event was looking to sell out months in advance and be a fantastic addition to the festival calendar, it was shaping up to be a true spectacular! We would like to thank everyone who has already supported the event in anyway and please keep your eyes open for our future Equinox plans, as we will certainly be back in full force!” Lak Mitchell and Chris Rutherford - Event Directors”
