Tonic Music for Mental Health returns for Tonic 2 in October following the success of 2012’s inaugural event. Apart from providing great bands, the event is dedicated to helping remove the stigma that still surrounds mental health issues.

Returning for its second year at Portsmouth Pyramids, Tonic 2 returns with a line-up featuring some of the UK’s most influential and iconic musicians including Terry Hall (The Specials), Dub Pistols, Bruce Foxton (The Jam), Bonehead (Oasis) and Vinny Peculiar (Parlour Flames) and The Lambrettas.

Hipshaker DJ’s (plus special guests) will be spinning vintage tunes on chunky vinyl in between bands throughout the event which will include some of the best local bands including: The Small Fakers, Orange Street, Andy Muscat, The Rising, Saucy Jack, Stefikie plus more to be announced. The evening show will feature Vinny & Bonehead’s new band, Parlour Flames, Dub Pistols, The Lambrettas, The Jam - who will be performing All Mod Cons in its entirety (celebrating its 35th anniversary). Terry Hall will close the show with a two hour DJ set - expect an eclectic mix of various genres including ska, reggae, soul, rock steady, 2tone and personal favourites such as Bowie. All the artists will be supporting Tonic Music for Mental Health - a new independent non-profit organisation that supports musicians with mental health problems access music, promote recovery, raise awareness and challenge the stigma and discrimination often associated with mental health.
