Open East Festival 2013 Overview

On the first anniversary of the London 2012 Games, the north of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park opens for a packed weekend of entertainment and activity, art and food.

Discover a world of music with a host of international acts, featuring Toots and the Maytals, The Waterboys, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and a supergroup of Malian artists including acclaimed duo Amadou & Mariam; while you can catch a live performance or a DJ set over at the Caught by the River stage.

Meanwhile, an array of pop-up performances and participation takes place across the Park. Make sure you visit the festival theatre tent to enjoy some dance or maybe even an East End sing-a-long.

Sample the flavours of the world at the Real Food Festival, join in a communal feast on one of the bridges over the River Lea or simply take time out for a quiet picnic on its banks.

Artists booked to appear include Toots and the Maytals, The Waterboys, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, and a supergroup of Malian artists including acclaimed duo Amadou & Mariam.
