East Neuk Festival 2018 Overview

The East Neuk Festival brings a huge selection of diverse music to unusual locations in the East Neuk of Fife area in Scotland.

The heart of the Festival is classical chamber music, but they also present world, jazz, folk and electronica. In addition to their musical celebrations, they’ve commissioned films, exhibitions, art installations and literature events as well as guided walks. In 2012 they launched a new strand to complement their music programme, “Littoral”: talks, discussions and walks led by some of the UK’s best nature writers, curated by two of Scotland’s most distinguished literary figures – Catherine Lockerbie and Jenny Brown.

They use a range of venues throughout the area, from small churches, an ex-nuclear bunker, caves, an RAF base, a Scout hut to stately homes & gardens. They take great pride in ensuring that the high standards on-stage are matched by the care and consideration given to all their attendees. One thing is guaranteed – each festival presents something new and unusual!

The East Neuk in the Kingdom of Fife is one of the most glorious destinations anywhere in Scotland and a perfect place to host a summer festival of music. Venues hosting performances include a magnificent stately home dating back to the 12th century and historic churches and halls in popular tourist haunts dotted along a beautifully rugged coast. Anstruther, Cellardyke, Crail and St Monans - each has much to offer between bursts of music and art and all have idyllic harbours to enjoy on dreamy summer days.
