Today thousands of students are receiving their GCSE results and with a recorded drop in grades for the first time due to stricter guidelines a need to relax and let off some steam is one the cards for a vast majority of young people across the UK for the Bank Holiday weekend. 

So, it’s a good job there’s a huge festival on to wipe away those exam blues. Over the next few days THE CURE, FOO FIGHTERS, KASABIAN and if rumours are true GREEN DAY will start to bring this year’s summer to an almightily rocking close at Reading and Leeds. 

For many the Reading and Leeds moshpit experience is their first ever festival so it’s vital everybody has a great time and of course that also includes disabled guests. 

The Reading site is fairly even and disabled guests can change their tickets for wristbands in the Rivermead Center car park then take a short drive into the campsite. To enter the arena the easiest way is through the Mike Gate. 

Disabled wristbands allow you and a PA to the campsites and the viewing areas which can be found at all stages. For those off to Leeds you can exchange your tickets for wristbands at the Yellow Gate on Thorner Road which is near where the shuttle bus drops people off. 

Over in Leeds the ground is quite uneven and the you will experience quite a steep route when accessing the campsite.

 In Reading the campsite is now open and will close on Monday, you won’t be able to park your car directly outside your tent although you can park up a very short distance away although keep a decent space free from the showers and loos. Additional adapted toilets can be found at all the viewing platforms in the main arena at both festival sites. 

You are welcome to bring up to three guests to spend the weekend although if you have more camping buddies larger groups are welcome in the public campsites. 

Leeds has a similar set up although as mentioned, the ground is more uneven. Located in both camping sites the folks from Attitude is Everything will be on hand in their information tent where you can also find sockets to plug in your electric wheelchairs. 

As far as grades go Reading & Leeds festival score an A+ for their accessible services and even the strictest examiner couldn’t take that away from them!
