The Evolution weekender is looking to be a great May Bank Holiday weekend on the banks of the Tyne.
The festival is held over two days in the iconic setting of the Newcastle-Gatehead Quayside. This is a no camping event.

Evolution returns to the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside with an outdoor bank holiday extravaganza, welcoming a veritable feast of world class artists performing over three stages
Evolution is an all ages event, however under 14s must be accompanied by an adult
No alcohol or glass bottles may be brought on site, there will be licensed bars at each of the festival sites, any alcohol found will be seized and not returned.
Included in the price of the ticket is a donation to Evolution's nominated charity "Wateraid" this donation will be paid by the ticket agents direct to Wateraid.
Site Access
No vehicle access to any sites
Access to Spillers Wharf can be gained by walking along the Quayside
Access to Baltic Square can be gained by the Baltic end of South Square Road via the Gateshead Millennium bridge.
Access to Ballast Hills stage can be gained via Maling street

Their was an air of expectation on the Sunday before the gates opened at Evolution 2012 with festival goers running to the main stage to get the best vantage points. The festival goers were dressed in summer outfits and some wore fancy dress fitting in with the festival theme, although the weather was not great, the atmosphere more than made up for this.
