With the school holidays just around the corner, here are some of the best family festivals to enjoy this summer.

Blissfields 2015

Date: 3rd - 4th Jul

Blissfields has a dedicated area for the family and kids, Angel Gardens, which combines education with fun. Angel Gardens has enough to keep your children entertained throughout the festival, attractions include: a Craft Area, The White Rabbit Cabaret and The Activistz Kidz Club allowing your children to create a protest on something they choose, making banners, learning chants and talking about why people protest and what they achieve.

Line Up includes: The Horrors, John Grant, Simian Mobile Disco (Live), Glass Animals, Public Service Broadcasting, Grandmaster Flash, Ibibio Sound Machine, The Correspondents, Songhoy Blues, and Novelist 

Camp Bestival 2015

Date: 30 Jul – 2 Aug

The multi award winning Camp Bestivals provides a great blend of family entertainment to keep the kids occupied all day, including films, a brand new adaptation of Julia Donaldson’s Scarecrows’ Wedding, and hip-hop’s answer to ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ with the Freestyle Funk Forum, to the hugely inspiring Gorilla Gardening.

Cornbury Festival 2015

Known as the posh Glastonbury (David Cameron is the local MP) Cornbury offers something for everyone – an eclectic mix of music across 4 stages, a fantastic children’s area with a complete programme of workshops daily and not a computer game in sight. If you want to treat yourself to glamping and the VIP treatment no festival does it better.

Deer Shed Festival 2015

Date: 24th - 26th Jul

Now in its sixth year Deer Shed’s theme for 2015 is ‘Up In The Air'. Deer Shed is unique in offering not only workshops from making clouds to identifying them in the sky, games (there’s a massive sand pit with 8 tonnes of sand!), but also plays host to a science area which allows the kids to learn while having fun, this includes the Wreckshop where they can take things apart and build something new.

LakeFest 2015

Date: 6th - 9th Aug

Croft Farm Waterpark, Gloucestershire, GL20 7EE

As the name would indicate, LakeFest is held on a site with a huge lake and there are a wide range waters ports from pedalo's to banana boats. There are a wide range of traditional workshops including kite making, circus skills, and Glamba Drumming. In addition there is a treasure hunt, BMX skills and Story-telling.

Line Up includes: Embrace, Ash, Billy Bragg, New Model Army, D:Ream,The Correspondents and Goldie Lookin Chain, plusThe Roving Crows, Erica, Babajack, Haunted Souls, Notorious Brothers and Simon Murphy.

Latitude Festival 2015

Date: 16th - 19th Jul

Henham Park Estate, Suffolk, NR34 8AN

Although marketed as a music and arts festival Latitude truly does have something for people of all ages, children, teenagers, parents, grandparents. The festival has performers from most of the arts and attracts the best in their field from ballet to comedy, spoken word to cabaret, theatre to art installation and of course music.
