Knockengorroch 2017 Preview

Posted on Mon 8th May 2017

If you are looking for a festival with its own mysterious magical vibe, in a beautiful off the track setting, and an eclectic program of artists then you should not miss Knockengorroch 2017.

Celebrating their 20 th year, the stunning site is set down a long winding single track road that takes you from the A713 deep into the Knockengorrach Meadows. It immediately excites you to leave the world behind and set up home beside the stunning riverside or buried beneath the woodland or on the hill sides rolling around the entire festival site.

This year’s line up is a fusion of eclectic musical delights. Whether you like to jig, jive, swagger or mosh, Knockengorroch’s line up will cater for everyone’s dancing needs.

You can enjoy the uplifting gypsy samba sounds of Molotov Jukebox.

Or take time out to chill to the soothing roots reggae rifts of the amazing Max Romeo.

If you want to jump around and expend some energy dancing your socks off and possibly your wellies or weather permitting, perhaps even dancing off your flip flops then Knockengorrach is going to please all your senses.

From drum and bass reggae mixes of Ed Solo & Deekline or the Mercury Prize winning gritty hip hop sounds from headliners Young Fathers or the slinky dancehall sounds from La Dame Blanche. If you still want to dance late into the night, you have the delights of Mungos Hi-Fi, Zion Train and the newly installed and very well received area from 2016, Maddie’s Mash Tree, which plays fast banging beats all night. Once you go under Maddies Tree it’s either you or the beat that drops.

There is nowhere else in Scotland that you can find such a beautiful site in compliment with its natural surroundings that will softly sooth and amuse you while simultaneously capable of taking you over the edge into a heightened state of musical ecstasy.

This small festival certainly packs a powerful wallop to all your senses.
