Trophy Wife's highly anticipated, eponymous, debut album is now available to download on Bandcamp. The three-piece alt-pop band from Oxford rose to prominence back in 2010 with the widely acclaimed debut single, 'Microlite' on Moshi Moshi, which saw them rapidly become one of the most blogged about bands in the UK. The trio went on to release further well received material, including the 'Bruxism' EP which saw them collaborate with Ewan Pearson, Warp records heroes Plaid and Foals frontman, Yannis Phillipakkis.
The band toured extensively, spreading the word of their distinctive, melancholic dance-pop to an international audience. After this, the band took time out to focus on the writing and recording of their debut. Working with producer and longstanding friend, Andrew Halford, the album, simply titled, 'Trophy Wife', sees the band push the outer extremities of their sound whilst retaining the same mechanical dance pulse of their earliest material. The band started leaking fragments of the album in the form of a video collage on trophywifeband.tumblr.com with the final video heralding the arrival of this long-awaited release.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BAND:
"We know this has taken a long time but our debut album is now finished and ready. After exploring a few different avenues, we have decided that rather than wait any longer we'd like to share it with you and we want you to have it for as much as you'd like to pay.
We'd also like you to know that we're going to be turning our attention to making some new music after this which means we're going to be putting Trophy Wife to rest. We've lived and breathed this band for the last three years and it feels like the right time for us to move on after the release of an album we truly love and are all incredibly proud of.
We've also planned a handful of shows to celebrate the release. All the details can be found below.
We've loved this band so much and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has in anyway connected with our songs, videos, live shows and artwork and helped make this happen for us.
