2013 has already proved to be a busy year for Jackie D Williams. In January he self-released his first EP Unite With Me reaching No.4 on the RnB iTunes charts and Top 100 on the main charts and at the end of January performing his first ever headline SOLD OUT show at Camden’s Barfly. Since then Jackie D has been doing a handful of supports for Delilah, Daley & has just finished supporting Bluey Robinson on his UK tour whilst busily working on the follow up EP to Unite With Me.

The new EP titled The Paradox is a sonic progression for Jackie D from Unite With Me, defining his sound and direction as an artist. The first track “Always On My Mind” is a funk/disco fuelled number; reminiscent of Jamiroquai, and was co-penned with Lee Ryan from Blue, detailing the infatuation when falling for someone for the first time.   The track has already received a number of plays on the radio via BBC Introducing, calling Always On My Mind “a tune and a half”.

The second track “Surface Of My Heart” was written with Nick Atkinson (who co-wrote Gabrielle Aplin’s last 3 singles) and explores the loss of trust in a relationship.  The accompanying video (released April 16th) shows a disheveled and beaten up Jackie D literally pouring out his heart to the woman that emotionally scared him in the song.  The EP also includes 2 remixes of Surface Of My Heart and Always On My Mind by OBP and Vespyro.
