REDLIGHT, BREAKAGE, FRICTION, B.TRAITS, MAJOR LOOK & MORE ADDED TO THE 2012 BILL

First up are Oklahoma rockers THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS who will be making the trip over to North Wales for their debut at Wakestock. This band has a phenomenal live show and have over 10 million album sales under their belts. Their latest album “Kids in the Street” is set for release at the end of this month. With a rocking back catalogue including smash hits like “Gives You Hell” and latest single “The Beekeepers Daughter” we reckon they shouldn’t be missed.

Also added is singer songwriter BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH. In 2011 Benjamin’s debut album Last Smoke Before The Smokestorm was released to critical acclaim. The track “Pictures” was named “Hottest Record In The World” by Zane Lowe and his massive UK tour last October sold out every date. He also delivered an amazing session in the famous Radio 1 Live Lounge. We’re delighted to welcome him to Wakestock 2012.

Joining him is Mercury prize winner MS DYNAMITE. This lady is back to doing what she does best. If you’ve been paying attention to the urban music scene over the past 18 months, you’ll have noticed her adding her voice to a series of underground floor-shakers, including DJ Zinc’s “Wile Out” and Katy B’s “Lights on” and her own massive single “Neva Soft”. She’s currently busy at work on her third studio album and is firmly back on the radar!

REDLIGHT will also be making the trip to North Wales. The Redlight sound is spreading fast with his unique DJ sets throughout the UK and Europe. 2010 saw Redlight’s rapid rise with the release of two dance floor destroyers “Stupid” and “What You Talking About!?” on Chase & Status’s label, which saw the return to form of Ms Dynamite with devastating effect. His jet propelled bangers will go down a storm on stage this year!

Bass music talent BREAKAGE is another addition for 2012. His recent single “Fighting Fire” with Jeff Mills wreaked havoc on dance floors across the country and received the backing of another Wakestock 2012 DJ, Annie Mac. With a new singe due for release in May and his new album is due later in 2012 – watch out for him this year!

FRICTION is riding high at the moment, and is due to join the Radio 1 family with his brand new Drum and Bass show in April this year. His latest single “Led Astray” was Zane’s Hottest Record in the World back in January. Friction is one of only a handful of drum and bass DJs to utilise three decks to mash up his mixes, creating a unique sound and we can’t wait to see him do just that at Wakestock.

Canadian born Radio 1 DJ B.TRAITS is another new addition to this years festival. With her massive current single “Fever” already proving a favourite with everyone from underground club DJs through to Radio 1 daytime presenters, 2012 is looking like B.Traits year. With the announcement of her own Radio 1 show, more singles and a debut album in the works, expect to hear a lot more from London’s newest star over the coming months.

These acts join the already announced line up of Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Katy B, Rizzle Kicks, Annie Mac, DJ Fresh Live, Zane Lowe, Azealia Banks, Flux Pavilion and more.

Also joining the bill are vocal drum and bass specialists MAJOR LOOK, whose single “Hush ya Gumz” has been a huge hit. Major Look is a new project that sees bass music mogul Stapleton hook up with producer Crystal Clear to create some of the catchiest and most talked about vocal DnB to be rolling around for a while.

L MARSHALL already has two Top 5 singles behind him, and even if you haven’t heard his name yet, you’ve definitely heard his music. As a writer he created Loick Essien’s No.2 smash, ‘How We Roll’, and is also the writer and vocalist on Wretch 32′s critically acclaimed No.5 hit, ‘Traktor’. This guy is preparing for his big takeover in 2012 and has just released his debut mix-tape “The Wait” Be sure to check him out this year.

Witty wordplay specialist MIKKIL PANE is best known for Little Lady, his massive selling collaboration with Ed Sheeran. He’s just finished touring with Ed, and is gearing up to release his debut album, “Blame Miss Barclay”, later this year. The Wakestock fans will love both him and singer-songwriter RYAN KEEN who will be joining him at the festival this year. Ryan’s rhythmic-percussive guitar playing made Radio1 sit up and take notice and his single “Focus” has received support from the likes of Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe. He’s preparing to hit the festival circuit this summer and will be taking to the stage at Wakestock 2012.
