Playing one of only two UK shows in 2016, Sigur Rós will top Citadel’s billing with what is certain to be an unforgettable headline show.

On headlining Citadel festival, the band said: “We are pleased to announce that we are playing Citadel next summer. In the spirit of adventure, all we can say right now is it’s going to be different. In addition to playing all the songs you know and love, there will be new unreleased songs, a new show and more… Trust us on this one.”

London-based independent label and promoter, Communion and visionary independent promoters Soundcrash will be aligning with Citadel once again to curate their respective stages. Last year saw Communion curate a bill of the finest and most exciting new music, whilst Soundcrash hosted a thrilling line-up of world and experimental music.

As well as a wealth of diverse music, Citadel rounds off the ultimate summer Sunday with a kaleidoscope of onsite experiences and activities. Sunday Papers Live will once again be in attendance to enrich minds with speakers and debates, whilst there will be a range of arts and crafts classes and workshops onsite – the perfect place to explore your creative side.

The competition will be heating up at the Citadel Sunday Sports Day where nostalgic games with a mischievous twist will be the order of the day.

There will be plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind on site, with Park Yoga sessions, massages and therapies all available.

Naturally, the cornerstone of any languid Sunday afternoon is a spread of delicious food, so once again, Citadel will be hosting a series of Long Table Feasts as well as stalls helmed by London’s finest dining institutions. Festival-goers will be able to wash it all down with fine real ales and craft beers on tap provided by local breweries, cocktails, juices, and – of course – Pimm’s.

Citadel will return to Victoria Park on Sunday 17th July to cement its position as London’s brightest, most forward-thinking new one-dayer.
