This is the second time Croissant Neuf Summer Party has received a Highly Commended Award from Green Parent Magazine and it is added to an ever-expanding list of accolades for the family-friendly festival who take green ethics  very much to heart.

Melissa Corkhill, editor of Green Parent, explains the decision

We have spent the last few months trawling through environmental policies, speaking to organisers and listening to our reader’s opinions on UK festivals. It was a tough job selecting the best green festivals, but Croissant Neuf shone through on so many counts - we are extremely impressed with the holistic approach you take to environmental issues.

The 2500 capacity festival is run entirely on solar and wind power and constantly produces new initiatives to make the event as sustainable as possible. The strategy for 2011 was so effective the festival received a carbon negative status in their environmental audit. The CNSP team have run a solar-powered festival venue for the past 25 years and put their wealth of knowledge and experience to use developing new approaches to keep an event of such scale sustainable.

Luke Howell, Festival Director explains

Each year at CNSP we aim to improve on our levels of sustainability and it is always honour to be recognised for it- especially by Green Parent as we aim to create a green, exciting but safe experience for the whole family. We’re not resting on our laurels either, we've got some exciting plans afoot (no pun intended!) on making travel to the site greener- so stay posted on our new cycling and car sharing schemes.

CNSP offers a bucket load of fun alongside its green outlook and boasts a bulging programme of live music, workshops, Sports Academy fixtures, circus skills and shows, games, crafts and treatments in the healing area. This, plus the sustainable green outlook and attention to detail that the organisers display is the reason for the festivals growing recognition and success.
